Dark and precious

Unless you've missed something you've probably noticed black is definately having it's moment and just when you think it's had it's day, so comes along another gorgeous collection. Swedish dream design team Linum, have gone and done it again and cranked up the dark and delicious mood with their latest offerings. Titled the Gem Collection, inspiration comes from organic facet patterns of precious stones and their beautifully clear natural colourways. Some of my favourite items are the Whyte linens and cushions (available in the UK from Scandi Living), featuring Hematite black and grey hues. Other colours include rose quartz, amber and malachite. Top tip - these colours are going to be HUGE in 2016!

New hues

I always love a little look ahead for future interior trends so let me share with you one which is by a favourite serial design superhero of mine, Sir Terence Conran and the Conran design team. Plundering their Paint by Conran range they've come up with a palette of 12 covetable colours which encapsulate the mood of things to come. Ranging in soft blue-greys, vibrant blush-to-russets and a good dose of neutrals they bring a clean, classic and enviably chic feel to a room. My favourite is this delicious kitchen scheme with it's moody grey overtones and a dash of glowing orange. Yum!

Stride to style success

If you're feeling a little bit lost when looking for new furniture and are in need of a lead when it comes to interior style direction, why not have a browse at high street furniture hub Harveys. Recognising the creative confusion and decorating dilemmas some customers face, they have upped their interior design game and come up with four new zones to help shoppers go from stumped to sorted. My own personal favourite is Bay Leather Republic which marries classic and vintage looks with a hint of industrial chic. Check it out now!

Designer destination

If you don't know about artisan emporium, Redloh House Fabrics, then make a point of seeking it out. This fabulous Chelsea based design collective is a one stop shop for amazing prints and weaves and includes ranges by Virginia White, Flockhart and Vanderhurd. New to the fold are Cloth & Clover with their simple yet stylish antique document based designs. Go out and discover!

Hedgerow hero

Seasonal blackberry, grape and field found harvest flora are the inspiration behind this amazing print from fabric house GP & J Baker. Meadow Fruit, my favourite from the new Originals Collection V range, is one of five dashing Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau archive originated, now newly available designs. Beautifully recoloured in an of-the-moment dark and dramatic palette, this stylised hedge and boundary inspired pattern is a must-buy for lovers of the refined rustic look.

Personal touch

I love the way simply woven fabrics and linens inherently fold and drape but you can make them look all the more gorgeous by adding initials, names and even messages. Volga Linen have an amazing inhouse monogramming service which paves the way to purchasing bespoke bedding, customising kitchen cloths and personalising home gifts. With a range of fonts and designs on offer it makes creating beautiful and thoughtful homewares and presents a breeze.

In bloom

As if by magic summer has returned today and the warming sunshine has brought out the best of those lingering flowers. It's just the excuse to get into the floral mood at home too with this latest bedlinen range by Christy. Coloured in delicious sounding shades of raspberry and pistachio on a generous cream ground, the Julianne bed set (priced from £99 a double duvet) blends old school glamour with casual country style......just beautiful!

Monochrome made easy

Love the black and white look but wonder if it's a bit too stark for your home? Then worry no more as I&JL Brown are on the case with their latest furniture and accessories ranges. Ticking the box in the black corner are beautifully painted Windsor Stickback chairs and a plain legged settle matched with white washed woods in the form of a handsome Wessex table. Shaking it up a bit are natural textures and muted finishes on accessories to bring a happily cohesive ending to this story. Sold!

Designs from nature

Sights and spottings from the surrounding countryside is the inspiration behind Sarah Hardaker's new Folio Collection. Swallows and cow parsley take centre stage in this collection, complemented by stylish stripes and plains, all making this an easy to use fabric range. Beautifully coloured with perfect pastel and mid-tone shades, my particular favourite is Wiveton with it's pale pink ground and navy print detailing.
